With the threat of severe weather overnight Thursday comes a possible change in homecoming festivities. In case of winter weather conditions in Mississippi Co. and school is canceled, there is still a possibility that homecoming activities will occur.

Superintendent Pam Castor will make the decision by 11:45 a.m. whether or not homecoming will be held Friday night as planned. If canceled, all festivities will be rescheduled for a later date. School closures and homecoming plans will be announced through the school’s text alert system.

According to Student Council sponsor Jennifer Harper, all events planned for the school day on Friday will also be rescheduled if school is canceled.

As of 2 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area, stating that forecasts suggest that total snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of around one-tenth of an inch are
expected.
