Last Wednesday, September 27, several students involved in coding went on a field trip. They went to ASU for a TechStart Virtual Reality Workshop. TechStart is a program developed by Facebook.

“I loved the field trip,” Connor Cole said. “I had been dreaming about using a device that they had there, and I finally got to do it.”

There were several speakers who spoke about the importance of virtual reality in various jobs. There was also a student panel that answered questions about Computer Science in college.

After that, there was a virtual reality workshop, where there were several stations with different VR activities. At one station was an Augmented Reality game, at another was a Hololens. There was also a station explaining the history of virtual reality.

“We learned how to make a VR game,” Tyler Veach said.
