Lions basketball starts strong

Monday night the Lady Lions had their season opener away at Marked Tree. With a great turnout of fans and support from home, the Lady Lion’s won.

Jr. high won 36-32 with Anna Grace Adams scoring 11 points and Olivia May following with 6 points.

Sr. high won 42-39 with Brailey Hampton scoring 19 points and Meg Gifford scoring 11.

The Lions followed up with their season opener Tuesday night at home bringing in tons of supporters. Ridgefield Christian looked pretty good but was nothing against the boys.

Seniors Bradey Woodall and Joel Burrow led the Sr. High Lions to victory, scoring 25 points each with an overall score of 89 against Ridgefield’s 58.

Freshman Austin Harmon led the Jr. High Lions scoring 18 points while freshman Ty Wagner was close behind scoring 17 points. The final score was 49-29 with a Lion win.

The Lions will play again Friday night in Corning with 7th grade starting at 5 p.m.
