Most teens nowadays are into shopping, while Marcy McGraw spends her days doing special effect makeup.

Marcy has always had a thing for special effects, even when she was a child.

“I always loved the show “Face-off,” so in like sixth grade I had the idea to like have a zombie gymnast look, and then I’ve been more interested and I did more work,” Marcy said.

As Marcy said, ever since her childhood her love has grown for special effects. She has big dreams and she is hoping that she can accomplish them.

“I have two colleges already in mind to get into the makeup aspect,“ she said. “One is called Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.”

Marcy has even made sure that people see her work. Even though she is a teen, she is already heading on to her dream.

“I have social media accounts like Instagram and Facebook,” she said. “I also talk about my work all the time and I make sure I promote myself.”

Since she has put her work out there, more and more people have been asking about it. Some people are even asking her if she could do their makeup. Even complete strangers have asked for Marcy to do their makeup.

“Sadly the ‘strangers’ have been in other states so I haven’t been able too,” she said. “But I have been giving tips to people so they can recreate it themselves.”

Around Halloween, Marcy was even asked to do makeup for the Manila haunted house.

“It was honestly very interesting and I felt kinda rushed but overall it was a great experience and working with people and having them understand that I’m not no where near professional but I’m trying to get there and for them to sit there and support me felt really great,” she said.

She even has a whole new career worked out for her if her dream job doesn’t work out.

“I’ve honestly been really interested in working with kids who have disabilities and becoming an American sign language teacher because I’ve spoken to deaf and blind students before and it’s just an amazing feeling that they’re so much smarter than us in ways we can’t even explain,” she said.
